Hype it up

It seems the news networks didn’t want to declare a clear winner on Tuesday just to boost their ratings. With most everything over, I do find it interesting that in nearly every election, there are clusters of states that go to a particular candidate. Most of this probably has to do with demographics.

It seems since Bush won that the mood of the campus hard-core liberals (and there are quite a few) has gone from bad to worse. They rant and whine as if their life is going to end. I know a few that have probably complained about it every day for the past four years. Do they really think that things will be that much different (or better) with a Democrat in office? There are many things that are beyond the president’s control.

To be honest, there were an equal number of things I liked and disliked about both candidates. If either one won, I could see potential benefits. I did take awhile to look at the issues and make a decision before sending in my ballot. I haven’t told anyone how I voted yet, either.

Well, enough with that, I’m sure everyone and their brother also wants to vent out their two cents about the election.

We finally finished the third networking project, but the fourth one will be using the code we just wrote to transfer actual data. The third one was just the handshaking and closing of a connection. In software development we have to make a GUI version of freecell. It’s kind of tough to sort out the whole model-view-controller relationship along with figuring out how swing works. At least I made some inroads today, but the project is due Tuesday and I’ve got a ways to go. I also have other homework to do in networking and econ. There is really only a handful of weeks left in the semester and the pace is picking up. I think it’s also the most exciting time too.

The weather has been all over the place. A week and a half ago it was in the 40s and raining. The past couple days have been hot and humid, almost 80. The weather should go back to normal within the next couple days though. Since the air conditioning is off it’s been a blast furnace in the room with all the heat too.
