For some reason it seems this semester is going by much faster than all the others. I’m not really sure why exactly, maybe because I’ve been here long enough and am just finally used to everything. Last year was a little different because of the injuries I had or was recovering from, which was probably part of it.

The TCP project is mostly what I’ve been working on after dinner and as a result, takes up most of my free time. It turns out we only have to do the handshaking and closing of the connection and not actual data transfer, but that will be for the next (and final) project. It’s kind of weird since we have to use the same code for both the client and the server. We also have to deal with packet loss, which is what we are working on now. It seems to be pretty tricky since the connection changes state during the handshaking and closing.

I’ve had a few other quizzes and tests in my other classes to keep my busy too. Some mornings before class I have been able to get in a few rounds of CS:S though. Slowly, I seem to be rebuilding my skill since I haven’t played many games lately.

Last Friday someone went into the locker room and stole at least $600 in cash from everyone’s wallets. I, along with a couple other guys, was spared because our wallets or pants were hidden somewhere that the thief couldn’t see. Everyone was pretty mad about that, especially since whoever it was had the guts to take the time to go into 35 lockers and search pockets and backpacks, and then replace the wallet wherever he found them. The door (which didn’t always shut) is now fixed and locks every time now.

The maintenance people shut off the air conditioning and turned on the heat a week or two ago and ever since it’s been hot as crap in the room. It’s gotten a little better the past few days since the temperature isn’t as warm, but still can be uncomfortable.

yeah, I know what you mean with the heat. They’re turning on our heat soon and it’s already really hot in here (since we have no ac) and I can’t even imagine if they turn the heat on. I dont think I could sleep under the covers at all. This is one reason why I really hate living in dorms.
